General Information -- Ardmore.Net

  • Through a unique agreement with API Digital in Huntsville, Alabama, Ardmore Telephone Company is pleased to bring the Information Super Highway to the North Alabama and southern Middle Tennessee region. Until recently it was necessary for users in this area to connect to the Internet via a long distance telephone connection. This additional expense prohibited most users from receiving the maximum benefits from Internet service. Now, with Ardmore.Net, it is possible for users within the Ardmore Telephone Company franchise area and surrounding environs to connect directly to the Internet without the additional long distance expense.
  • Ardmore.Net has contracted with API Digital to provide technical support (Help Desk Service). If you should need technical assistance with access, please call the API Digital Help Desk at (888) 878-4354. Their technicians are specially trained to get you on line and working with as little difficulty as possible.

Billing Plans & Rates

Ardmore.Net provides several billing plan options for dial-up users. All public dial-up charges are usage-based, and are not respective of time of day, modem speed, or type of connection (i.e., terminal vs. SLIP or PPP).

Subsequent billing will include the next month's plan charge plus any overtime charges for the previous month. Public Access dial-up connections are the standard modem lines available to all users. All Ardmore.Net locations provide full 56k v.90 access which will negotiate to the highest speed possible considering the customer's modem and available telephone connection. Maximum speeds are not guaranteed. Users accrue time based on their individual connections. Usage is calculated from time of connect to time of disconnect.

A $99.00 initialization fee is charged before the service will be activated. The monthly rate includes DSL service, Internet access, up to two DSL filters and usage of a DSL device. Installation of the DSL device is the responsibility of the customer.
